Folder Protection can protect your important and private data from unwanted hands by locking it with a password. The program comes with a very user-friendly interface that lets you lock any folder in three easy steps. However, the program cannot lock any file that is outside a folder.
The program directly integrates itself in the Windows context menu and enables you to lock any folder anywhere on your PC very quickly. However, you cannot access a locked folder without unlocking it first, and, of course, you will have to lock the folder back using the same locking process. In short, the program cannot unlock a locked folder for you temporarily and lock it back automatically – this makes it a very simple folder protection tool. I just remember a program called “Hide Folders” that had this wonderful feature of locking automatically any unlocked folder as soon as the user quit it. Thus, it would be good if the developer could add such a feature to this program. However, the program allows you to burn any locked folders into a CD or DVD, and enables you to unlock any locked folder also when accessed through a network.
Shortly, the program is a good folder locker that comes with a very user-friendly interface though with very basic features. Thus, it does not seem to be very useful for office use or for experts.
